Crosby ended his six game goal slump with a first period goal against Halak to tie the game but the Penguins still ended up losing Game 6 of the Eastern Conference semifinal to the Montreal Canadiens. The result forces the Penguins and the Canadiens to play a game 7 winner takes all match to qualiify for the Eastern Confernce Final.
It was Crosby’s fourth career hat trick and he had two assists as well to also make it his second “five-point” game.
